16 weeks...

Today I had my 16 week appointment. I got to hear our little baby boy's heart beat...which I told Ryan there was TWO HEARTBEATS, and I thought he was going to have a heart attack...BUT it was just APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!! hahaha, I always get him each year!

Anyways, my doctor said everything looks good, and my genetic screen results came back and we are in the lowest category of having a baby with Downs and the other birth defects. So that is great news! They changed my due date AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! So now it is saying September 15. (the first one was the 14th, then the changed it to the 19th, now back to the 15th.) As long as my baby is okay and healthy, I don't really care about the due date! So we are going with being 16 weeks and 2 days today! haha!

She measured me and said, "wow, your baby boy is TALL!" Not really sure how she would know that, I just thought it was funny...so it looks like our boy might be taking after his father! :)

Some new house news...We are having amazing weather, so of course, We are having a war of ants! Ryan is driving himself crazy because we have these huge ants coming out of everywhere!!! On the walls, in our cabinets, everywhere!!! We are going to have an exterminator come on Friday. Ryan found today that one of our big windows up front is ROTTED, so there was a hole in it that our home inspector obviously did not see!!!!!! So that is most likely the source of the HUGE ants! So now, we may be using our tax return $$ to get new windows! oh the joys of owning a home!!!!

I also got to meet Jackson, Leigh and Sherry's new little puppy; Kate and Ron's dog, Trixie; and Sherry's baby nephew, TJ. So the house was full of babies and dogs! haha! 15 weeks and the dreaded maternity jeans I go:(

Tomorrow starts my 15th week of pregnancy and I am definitely showing now, and I can feel it! I started getting those ligament pains earlier this past week, and I feel like every part of me grew!!! I had a little freak out hormonal moment Friday night when Ryan asked me to go out to dinner...and NOT wear sweat pants! haha, so I go into my closet, put on my jeans that I wore just last Saturday, and THEY DON'T fit!!! I could barely get them over my hips, and there was no way of buttoning them! Now I knew this was coming, BUT I haven't gotten new jeans in like 3 years, AND I still wear a pair of my favorite jeans from HIGH SCHOOL! So I think I was a little in denial! haha, anyways, I found a pair in my closet that still fits, but I gave in a went to Target and got a couple pairs of maternity jeans and some pants to wear to work. Those are the maternity jeans in the picture above, they are actually really comfy and look cute. Ryan and I have a couple boy names we like, my favorite is Owen, we also like Logan. We already know the middle name is going to be Steven, after Ryan's dad. I think Owen Steven McKee sounds good! Ryan says it sounds like I have made my mind up, haha, but not quite yet. We will see...:) Just f.y.i. we plan on coming home to Noblesville for Easter, so hopefully we get to see a lot of you!!! It has almost been 3 months since we have been home!

98% SURE it's a....BOY!!!!!!!!!!!

This is our baby's butt and right leg...and YEP, definitely some male parts right there!!
He has my chubby cheeks!!! :) That is a picture of his spine, everything looks good!Another view of our BOY's part

His hand up over his head, so cool to see his feet and arms moving all over!!!!
************************************************************************************
Well, it is official, well 98% official, we are having a BOY!! Ryan and I had our "do-over" genetic screen today, and it actually all worked out for the best. We had an AMAZING ultrasound tech, who was so cool, she explained everything and made us feel very comfortable. I asked her if she thinks we would be able to tell the sex yet, and she said she would try and see....Our baby started flipping around and basically FLASHED us HIS stuff, and she was like, "whoa, yep, you are having a boy". She said since it is 14 weeks and 3 days, we should definitely make sure around 20 week ultrasound, but she is "98% sure" its a boy...the more flips he did, the more confident she was...hahaha, he kept flashing us!!!!!!! He must have knew how much I wanted to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ryan and I were both shocked, for 1. that we actually found out today 2. because it really is a boy!!!! I almost cried, I could feel it in my eyes! It makes it that more real and I am so happy! We got to see everything, his feet, spine, brain, hear his heartbeat, and she said everything looks great! Those cysts are still there, but she said they looked smaller and told me not to worry (did I mention how much I loved this tech!) We are just so excited!!!! If he is anything like his father, we are going to have an amazing son:) :) :)

CHIrish 2010 :)

Today was a lot of fun! Ryan is taking a little cat nap as I write this, haha, our day started at 6:30 a.m., and unlike me, his involved a lot of GREEN BEER!!! haha! We just got back, I think our friends are still out at the bars!!! Anyways, Ryan and I got up and went downtown to watch the Chicago St. Patty's tradition of dyeing the Chicago River green. It was a pretty cool to see it happen! After that, we headed north to Wrigleyville to meet up with some of our friends from Chi as well as some of my Noblesville girls who are visiting!!! It was so nice to see them!!! We were at this bar for the majority of the day...it wasn't that bad being around a bunch of drunk people, haha, they all were just making me laugh!! We played flippy cup (I even joined in with WATER:) then met up with our friend, Leigh, at a house party. By that time, I was starting to get really tired, so Ryan and I headed back home. Funny the tired pregnant girl is still awake, while my husband is asleep next to me!!! :) :P :) HAPPY ST. PATTY'S EVERYONE!!!!!!!

13 going on 14 weeks...

Well I am FINALLY feeling like myself again...I have more energy and I am not feeling sick anymore (knock on wood!)...and I am sleeping a little better this week....so this is all good news:) I am still fitting in my jeans and scrubs for work comfortably, but I may need to start thinking about maternity clothes soon before all of a sudden I don't have anything to wear! I am continuing to work out and I don't have any major cravings yet, so I am just kinda boring right now!!! haha! Some of my friends from Noblesville are coming up to Chicago this weekend for St. Patty's day, so I am sure I will have some pictures and updates of our shenanigans:) Yah, Prego woman on a bar crawl...Should be interesting! haha! I think Ryan is going to fully benefit from this weekend with his own personal DD :) :) I am super excited to see everyone and hope this energy I have continues...:)

McDonoughs' visit

macy has the most beautiful eyelashes...she is so precious!
She loves her big brother!

Cole being silly running all over our house
Coley and "Moley" the snake
Peek-a-boo Macy!!!
I could resist putting her this basket...she didn't mind at all!
*********************************************************************************
This week has been extra stressful for me, so it was really nice to have my family come up and visit! My mom, dad, Erin, Cole, and Macy all came up yesterday and spend the day/night with us. They finally got to see our new house and we took them on a tour of our town. The rest of the day was really low-key, but it was just nice to play with Macy and Cole, and hang out, and catch up! We went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner, and Cole really enjoyed that. He got a snake he named "Moley." haha. Of course, I got a mini photo shoot in with Macy (Cole is much harder to take pictures of now, but he did allow a few!) Above are a few of my favorites. She is so precious and such a happy baby! I am not sleeping very well at all, so I was up this morning when she woke Erin up...so once Erin fed her, I took her so Erin could go back to sleep...it was nice to spend the morning with her. My dad is also doing really well, and looks great. I really missed all of them so much, so I am glad they were all able to come!

better ultrasound picture!

My Tuesday Doctor's appointment with my OBs went a lot better than Monday's genetic screen. My doctors calmed my fears and said everything is going right on plan. They even wanted to do another ultrasound just to take their own look and hear the heartbeat. So I got to finally hear our baby's heartbeat, amazing! I love this ultrasound picture as well, you can definitely see a little nose and lips forming there!! so precious already :)

12 week ultrasound pictures

Here I go being impatient again, can't wait for Ryan to get home, plus I want Ryan to be able to see these right now :) These are pictures of a picture, so definitely not very good quality, but you can definitely see a little baby in there!

Genetic Screen

Sorry no pictures, I do have 3 ultrasound pictures to share, but can't scan them until Ryan gets home from his business trip on Wednesday! I went to my genetic screen today or what was suppose to be a genetic screen. I had to go to a different facility for the test, not my doctors' office. They brought me in to do an ultrasound first before all the tests, and the ultrasound tech told me I was only measuring at 11 weeks, and they were unable to complete the test because of this!!!!! Of course, she did not really explain herself to me even with all my questions, and I was kind of freaking out because I didn't understand what was going on. On top of that, she found two cysts in my left ovary, so that made me even more scared!!!! Now, being a healthcare professional myself, I would never give a patient information without completely explaining myself as well as being a little compassionate, so I was really upset by this lady's professional behavior. I have my 12 week appointment with my actual Doctors tomorrow so I know I will get further explanation from them. I called my mom right when I left, and she was able to explain everything to me, so I stopped freaking out as much! I am still considered 12 weeks pregnant, but our baby is just measuring a little smaller than the average baby at this time. The tech needed him/her to be at least 4.5 cm long crown to rump, and our baby is only 4.3 cm, so not too far off. But unfortunately, I had to reschedule and come back in two weeks. My mother also explained that the cysts are something very common and they usually slowly shrink and go away throughout the pregnancy. I will get another ultrasound in two weeks for them to check this and see if that is happening. I will be 14 weeks by then, but probably measuring 13 if this little bean doesn't start to grow more! NOW, I wonder if this baby is a GIRL because it is measuring smaller AND the heartbeat was 153 bpm...a wives' tale says if the heart rate is over 140 bpm it is a girl :) hahaha! It was amazing to see the little bean flopping around in my belly, it looks so much different than the last ultrasound I got. It is starting to definitely look like a baby!!!! I will post the pics as soon as possible!
