Quick Update: 30 week appointment

Hey all! Just a quick update. I went to my 30 week check up today, and everything seems to be going smoothly. I lost two pounds, so I was a little concerned about that, but my doctor quickly calmed me down about that, saying it was no big deal. So, so far I have gained 15 lbs. We discussed what I have been eating, and he said it sounds like I am eating very healthy, so to just keep that up. He also said the exercise I am doing is great, and just right, so that all made me feel better. Owen is definitely growing, my belly still measures a little over 30 weeks, so that definitely made me feel a lot better about the lack of weight gain. As long as my baby is growing and healthy, I am happy! His heartbeat was nice and strong as well. I am getting a 4D ultrasound this Friday and I am super excited to see Owen again...it has been way too long. But he definitely does not let me forget he is there...he is constantly moving around, jabbing at me. All our friends this past weekend got to feel him kicking, and Ryan gets to feel him all the time as well now. We are heading home tomorrow for a long weekend and to witness our friends get married, Jessica & Jared and Darren & Julie...So lots of pictures to be posted this weekend :) Hope all is well with you all! miss you all!

************************************************************************************

We had such a fun, busy holiday weekend! Our friends, Brad and Angi, came up to our house this past Thursday to visit for the weekend. We grilled out that night, and just got to hang out and enjoy our deck and backyard. They brought their 14 month old puppy, Aggie, to stay as well. Her and Guinness actually got along well...Aggie was a little disappointed that Guinness wouldn't play with her, but she got over it fast! Friday I had to work, but Ryan, Angi, and Brad went to Navy Pier and walked around the city. Friday night, we met up with our friends, Blair and Megan, and went out to a sushi restaurant downtown Chi, then to a bar. My friend from grad school was in town, Sara, for a bachelorette party, so she met us out as well Friday night. Saturday we woke up early to head down to Wrigleyville for the CUBS vs. REDS game. It was a perfect day for the game. Our seats were in the shade as well, so I stayed really comfortable throughout the game. We went out to a bar after the CUBS kicked the REDS butt :) for a bit, but Angi and Brad had to head home to Indy that night. Today my friend Sara came over and we grilled out...we spent the day just hanging out and catching up, we haven't seen each other for 2 years!! It was so good to just sit and talk with her, it is like nothing has changed between us, we picked right up where we last left off! I didn't realize how much I missed her!
Tonight Ryan and I are just taking it easy and gonna go to the local firework show. I have to work tomorrow (boooo) but Ryan has the day off. Not fair! I hope everyone is having a great Fourth of July weekend!

I had my 28 week appointment today. Everything looks good, except my Dr. told me to start taking extra Vitamin B 12 along with my prenatal vitamins because something in my blood was kind of high....nothing too major. I got my RH factor shot today, they will check Owen when he is born and see if he has the RH factor as well, if he does, I have to get another shot. So we will see, once again, nothing too major. They measured me and I am measuring a week ahead, but most likely Owen is just a big baby. It took her a while again to find his heartbeat because the little guy is kicking and moving all over the place! All you hear is him rubbing up against the doppler! Once he calmed down, she took it and it was nice and strong :) Speaking of Owen moving, I was taking a bath the other night, and decided to put the Dave Matthews CD in to listen to. Owen started moving like crazy, especially to all the upbeat songs, he shook the water, no joke!!! The kid has good taste in music!!! Since being pregnant, I have become a little baker, ask Ryan, I would never really cook before. Now I will stop by the store all the time and put together these elaborate meals, but then unfortunately, I get full super fast so I never get to enjoy them fully, but Ryan is sure getting the benefit of it!!!!!

Happy Father's Day!!!!

Happy Father's day to my hubby! I know he is going to be such an amazing dad, because he is already an amazing husband and best friend to me :) Owen is going to be a lucky little man!

Happy Father's day to all the other DADs in my life, especially my own DAD. This Father's Day is extra special because of all the things our family went through this past November with my dad's heart, and I feel blessed that GOD gave my father another chance at life, he is such an amazing man, and I am so proud of how he has turned his health around since then! He also is doing great things in his professional life, and I am proud of the work he is doing. Indy's WISH TV featured his work on their newscast the other night, check it out! love you Dad! Wish we could be there today!

Happy 2 years & 97 days until Owen arrives!!!!!

Ryan and I celebrating our two year wedding anniversary at CITE in Chicago.
27 weeks along...I feel like I have a bowling bowl in my stomach now!!!!
360 degree views from CITE on the 70th floor...Lake Shore Drive and the Hancock building at sunset...so pretty!
Cite is in the building right next to Navy Pier, top floor is the restaurant on the 70th, every other floor is residential...could you imagine living here!!!!
Our glider and ottoman...so comfortable:)
Let's hope Owen is a CUBS fan, b/c he sure will have enough stuff! I have a feeling his auntie Sarah will try to make him a BOSTON fan, and his Uncle Sean will try to make him a Yankee fan...so we will see who wins! :) :)
The hat rack I made Owen :)
Ryan and I made Owen a build-a-bear at the Navy Pier store before our anniversary dinner...Meet MR. CUB :) I just think he is adorable!
*********************************************************************************
I official start my third trimester tomorrow...wow! I have been reading my baby books a little more lately (I have been really bad at that!) and it relieves me to know Owen is capable of breathing outside of me now if heaven forbid something happens! (My co-workers' sister just had her baby at like 30 weeks, so that is scary how those things happen.) According to those books I also have 97 more days until Owen will be full-term...so crazy! I definitely feel him ALLL the time, my stomach is hard as a rock, and seems to get bigger each day...it feels like a bowling ball in there! Ryan can feel him on the outside now all the time, so that is cool. I am feeling okay, sleeping is still not amazing, but I can't really complain because things haven't been that bad. I am still walking 30-45 minutes at day during the week (on top of all the walking I do at work) and I also do this exercise machine at my lunch break for 30-45 minutes because it really helps my back pain. SO I am still trucking along!
Ryan and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary this past Monday. I had this romantic SURPRISE getaway planned for this weekend, but of course I couldn't keep it a secret, so I told him on our actually anniversary. I had booked a hotel room downtown Chicago and made reservations at restaurant. After we talked about it, we decided to cancel the hotel and save our Marriott reward points for a "babymoon". We have enough points together now for a 5 night stay AND all-inclusive package...so we have been looking for places to book probably April 2011, and want to bring Owen with us:) Just something relaxing and low-key...sounds amazing!
So we kept the restaurant reservation, a place called CITE, Ryan's cousins, Kristin and Drew, recommended it to me. It is at the top of the Lake Point Tower next to Navy Pier. It has floor to ceiling windows all around the restaurant, so the views were amazing. We were there for over 2 hours and just had a great time.
We are missing out on Ryan's family birthday celebrations today back home, we are sorry we couldn't be there! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SARAH, GRANDPA CHUCK, AND GRANDMA RETTA!!!
