week 38 dr. appt.

So I just got home from my week 38 appointment, and before I lay down for a nap, I wanted to write this out so I don't forget! haha! Well, this Dr. appointment went very well compared to last week, mostly because I LOVE my doctor I saw today (Dr. Dillon). She is just awesome. Very patient, and explains everything, which just makes me feel more comfortable overall. She had no problem checking me to see if I am dilated or effaced. So it turns out I am 50% effaced and almost 1 cm dilated! She said that doesn't mean I will go tomorrow, but it also doesn't mean I won't. His head is definitely in position as well. He kept elbowing the doppler today again, and it was really low! haha! My back has just started acting up this week, so I am thankful it held out this long. She recommended I take it as easy as possible at work and definitely come home and lay down to relieve the pressure/gravity of my belly (like she had to tell me that!!! haha, already been doing that every day!) I started wearing my belly band at work for back support, but it doesn't fit anymore! :( I told her I really wanted to stay working as long as I could, so I am glad she didn't put me on bed rest or anything YET. I want to save all my time off with OWEN :). Lastly, she said if Owen hasn't made his arrival by week 4o, we will set up a date to induce during week 41...so no matter what, Owen will be here in at least 3 weeks! that is so surreal! HOPEFULLY he arrives on his own and much sooner than that! :) :)
