Just taking it day by day, I don't want to jinx it!!!!! Now if I could only SLEEP when he sleeps, I am still recovering, and it is hard for me to get comfortable, so I am usually awake while my two blonde boys and Guinness are snoring away!!! haha, but each day it is getting easier and less painful.

my little nephew, Connor!

my new nephew Connor...I think he looks just like my brother in this photo!
With all the craziness with Owen's birth, I haven't been able to check out these pictures my brother and sister-in-law sent out of my little nephew, Connor. Isn't he just so precious!!!!! I cannot wait for Owen and Connor to meet, I know they are going to be buddies...like when they are older traveling and visiting each other :), hanging out on family trips, maybe going to the same college...hahaha :) It is just so neat to have them so close together in age.

Welcome Owen Steven McKee!

Owen just minutes old...7lbs 2oz, 21 inches long

Very alert baby boy!

Owen finally was welcomed to this world on Sunday 9/12/10 at 2:27pm after 1 and 1/2 days of labor. I started getting contractions at 4 am Saturday morning, but they were really far apart. So Ry and I labored at home all day. They got really strong around 6:30pm that night, so we called my doctor, and she said to head over to the hospital. We got there, and everything started pretty smoothly. They gave me my epidural, broke my water, and medicine to make me dialate faster. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, sister, and mom all came up together that night from Noblesville. My dad, bro-in-law, and father-in-law all made it up Sunday. It was so nice having our family come up to support us.
My epidural kept wearing off on my left side, so I was feeling my contractions really bad. They kept giving me more every 2-3 hours, but like clock work, it wore off, but my right side was so numb (wierdest feeling ever!). I kept getting sick, vomitting a lotthroughout my labor and pushing. Nobody is really sure why that was, but it definitely was not pretty. They had me start to push around 9:30AM on Sunday, for like 45 minutes...then they gave me a break because we were getting nowhere, and they wanted to let him try and work his way down more. So around 11:30am, we started again, and I pushed for 3 hours straight!!! My epidural had worn off again, but they had me work with the feelings of my contractions, so I basically had natural childbirth...definitely not in my birth plan & the most painful thing imaginable...all moms that go through that deserve a reward or something!!! My doctor came in around hour 3 of pushing and felt around, and they realize that Owen had turned himself "sunny side up", meaning his head was up and not in the proper down position...NO WONDER I could get the little guy out pushing. Everything happen really fast after that...they used forceps and the count of 3 they had me push one last time and my doctor pulled Owen out. I was a hysterical mess, the most exhausted I have EVER been in my life...but just so relieved to have him out. Now I understand that cliche you "forget all about the pain of labor after you see your child"; well that is exactly what happened. I am IN LOVE. Speaking of love, my husband has been absolutely amazing. He took such good care of me, did not leave my side throughout the whole ordeal...he saw things I never EVER wanted him to see but I could just feel his love for me no matter what, and that made me work harder and kept me going...Now I have a mini Ryan and I could not be happier!!! I think God is making up for all that hard stuff right now, because (knock on wood) Owen is being so amazing. He is breast-feeding so well, and is just this little chill man. He is so alert, and will breast-feed then stays up and hangs out with us, so taking in everything. He got circumsized today and didn't even cry (he is in a little pain now, but only when we change his diaper)
Good thing he is like that, because today Ryan got really sick (I think all the stress of everything caught up with him) so my nurse was taking care of all 3 of us today!!! He had a fever, so she gave him something to make it go down...it finally did, but we decided just to be safe, for him to go home tonight and not stay at the hospital with Owen and I. So my little man and I are just chilling right now. I cannot wait for you all to meet him, he is just awesome!

39 week appointment

I had my 39 week appointment today. My BP was good, but my doctor was a little concerned when I told her I wasn't feeling Owen move as much as I have been. I didn't really think anything of it b/c even though he is not moving AS much when he does move it is like full, painful stretch up into my lungs and low in my pelvis, like he has no more room to move...so I would rather him NOT move too much, ha. I had my my favorite very thorough Dr. again today, so she wanted to make sure everything was okay with him, so she decided to do a quick ultrasound and hook me up to a monitor for 15 minutes to measure his movements/heartrate. (If it was my not-so-favorite Dr, he probably would have just said "go home and drink some wine and relax" to get him moving, no joke, he told my co-worker that before!) Anyways, I got a little view of his BIG head, but it was just the back b/c he is face down and really really low in my pelvis, which is good she said. She also said I have A LOT of amniotic fluid, so that could be another reason I am not feeling him as much, as well as he is just running out of room to move around. The monitor results came back just fine, and she said I had like 3 contractions during the 15-20 minutes of monitoring...which I didn't know! I had back pain, but I am so used to it, I didn't even realize that it could be a contraction! Sooo that is basically it, not really sure if that means anything, we will just have to see when Owen wants to make his debut! Hopefully sooner than later!!!!!

Hoping for some LABOR on labor day!!! plllleasse!

This weekend so far has been so fun...Ryan and I are treating it like a babymoon :) It is nice and cool up here (feels like fall weather), and absolutely beautiful, so we have been having fun just being with each other. We have been relaxing all weekend; sleeping in, going on walks, watching football, just enjoying our last holiday weekend together without a child! (wow!) Last night we had our neighbors over and we used our new fire pit to make smores, and just enjoyed our backyard all night. Today we decided to go to Lake Geneva, WI for the day, even though most people told us that is kind of risky...Ryan was really nervous driving up there, he was thinking I would go into labor or something! (it is only 1.5 hours away from our house, so I wasn't really nervous.) We enjoyed walking around and going into the cute little shops they have. It really is a beautiful town. I have been feeling AMAZING all weekend up until just now...on the way back from Lake Geneva today, my back started really hurting, and I was getting those false labor pains...Ryan made me start tracking how far apart! ha! (he is going to be such a good dad, already taking charge and care of his baby boy!), they were really sporadic and lasted a long time...so I am thinking they are just Braxon Hicks, but have been getting them for the past few hours more than ever...soooo here's hoping that I go into labor on LABOR DAY! :) We will definitely let you all know. week 39 begins...HAPPY LABOR DAY EVERYONE!
